Grand Opening Details

With only six days until we open our doors to the public, a lot has been going on at GriffoNest Games as we prepare for what we hope will be throngs of gamers. As we tirelessly tend to every little detail to ensure an awesome experience for each person who walks through our doors, we can almost hear the seconds hand ticking down to that moment.

These will be our normal business hours (subject to change during summer and holidays):

Sunday: 12 PM - 6 PM

Monday: 4 PM - 10 PM

Tuesday: 4 PM - 10 PM

Wednesday: 4 PM - 10 PM

Thursday: 12 PM - 10 PM

Friday: 12 PM - 12 AM (we will stay open later, if necessary)

Saturday: 12 PM - 7 PM (we will stay open later, if necessary)

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30th - Magic: The Gathering Night

We will be open our normal hours this day. While we are not yet part of the Wizard's Play Network, which is required to hold sanctioned Friday Night Magic Tournaments, we will still be hosting a Standard and Draft tournament with prizes.

Standard + Draft

6:00 PM: Signups for both tournaments will begin.

6:30 PM: Start our Draft tournament

7:00 PM Start our Standard tournament

As long as there is space, we also welcome any Commander players to join us for some fun. We have the latest Commander decks available for sale! #commander2019 #magicthegathering

SATURDAY, AUGUST 31st - BOARD GAME DAY

We will be open our normal hours this day. We will have a variety of game demos available on Saturday, including, but not limited to:

Play as one of the Star Wars' greatest scoundrels - Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, Boba Fett, and many more. Become the most (in)famous person in the Outer Rim.

Too Many Bones is a dice-builder RPG with a bit of tactics involved.

Can you stop the impending doom that approaches? Set in the Roaring Twenties, a group of investigators must piece together the clues in time in order to save mankind from the end times.

Choose a hero, assemble your team, and stop the bad guys in this fast-paced deck building game.

Draft your army and lead them to victory on the battlefield!

At 6:00 PM Saturday Evening, we will officially begin our first official weekly Game Night! Come spend a little time with us, meet new people, and play a variety of entertaining games. From the latest to the classics, bring in one of your own games or just show-up ready to play! While we officially close at 7, we will keep our doors open so long as we have gamers enjoying themselves in our store! #boardgames

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st - RPG / CAMPAIGN DAY

On Sunday, starting around 1:00 PM, we will begin demos of various role playing/campaign style games. Running in approximately 1 to 2 hour sessions, come experience some of the following:

Dungeons & Dragons: The classic RPG that started it all...

Starfinder: Come experience the Pact Worlds!

As people began the rush to mine the Dark Stone, evil was unleashed! Set in the old west, take up an iconic western archetype and fight the forces of evil.

Warhammer 40,000: Assemble your forces and destroy your enemies! Set in the distant future, Warhammer 40K let's you tailor your army just the way you like them.

If you don't want to try one of the demos, feel free to use our store as a meeting place for your RPG group (so long as we have space - first come, first seated). We will also extend our hours on this day for as long as we have gamers in our store!

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd - FREE PLAY - OPEN AT NOON!

While we have no special demos or games planned for this day, we welcome anyone to come in and use one of our gaming tables! We will remain open until our normal time of 10:00 PM.
